In a tragic turn of events, the lifeless body of 23-year-old Indian student Mitkumar Patel, who had gone missing in the UK last month, was discovered in the River Thames in London. Patel, who arrived in the UK for higher studies in September, was reported missing on November 17. The Metropolitan Police located his body near the Canary Wharf area of east London on November 21, subsequently pronouncing him dead upon the arrival of paramedics.

The Met Police asserted that the death is not deemed suspicious, providing limited details on the circumstances leading to Patel’s tragic end. In response to the heartbreaking incident, a relative identified as Parth Patel initiated a Go Fund Me online fundraiser, garnering over GBP 4,500 within a week.

Mitkumar Patel’s fundraising appeal narrates the somber tale of a young student from a farming family who, after arriving in the UK, went missing on November 17. The appeal highlights the discovery of his deceased body in the waters near Canary Wharf on November 21, prompting the family to seek financial assistance for repatriation and support.

The Evening Standard reported that Mitkumar Patel was scheduled to commence studies at Sheffield Hallam University on November 20 and undertake a part-time job at Amazon. His disappearance was noted when he failed to return from a routine walk near his London residence, causing concern among relatives who later reported him missing. The subsequent revelation that he had left behind his set of keys deepened the mystery surrounding his untimely demise.
