NWKRTC MD Bharat’s Photo Misused by Scammers to Target Officers, Case Filed

Hubballi: Miscreants have been impersonating NWKRTC Managing Director Bharat by using his picture as their WhatsApp display profile (DP) and attempting to scam NWKRTC officers into sending them money.

The scheme came to light recently when one of the targeted officers filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime police. According to the officer, the scammer used Bharat’s photo as their DP and then initiated chats with other NWKRTC officers. During these chats, the scammer subtly made financial requests, urging the officers to send them money.

The officer who filed the complaint has provided the police with phone numbers belonging to individuals who used Bharat’s photo and contacted NWKRTC officers with money demands.
