Over the past nine days, a knife-wielding assailant has carried out unprovoked attacks, stabbing at least five people in Queens, New York. The suspect is engaging in random stabbings with a hunting knife, with no apparent connections between the victims, according to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell.

These incidents occurred between midnight and 8:30 a.m. in southern Queens. The most recent attack involved a verbal dispute on a bus, while a 71-year-old man and a 41-year-old man were stabbed while walking on Wednesday. Surveillance footage shows the suspect talking to himself and stabbing a bodega window after the attacks.

Detectives are actively working on the case, with heightened police presence in the affected area. The stabbings, characterized as entirely unprovoked, have prompted concerns, and the suspect is being sought based on a general description provided by authorities.

Police are also investigating a Brooklyn stabbing to determine potential connections to the Queens attacks. Fortunately, all victims have non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, described as male with a medium complexion, stands at approximately 5 feet 9 inches and was last seen wearing a dark gray jacket, black pants, black shoes, and a blue mask.
