No Party Disciplinary Action: Dravid Clarifies Iyer and Kishan Exclusions

Mumbai: Head coach Rahul Dravid clarified that Shreyas Iyer’s exclusion from the Afghanistan T20I series was due to the abundance of batting options, not disciplinary reasons.

Ishan Kishan took a break for mental fatigue, denying reports of partying in Dubai. Dravid emphasized that Kishan wasn’t available for selection, and his return to consideration would follow his availability for domestic cricket.

Regarding Iyer, Dravid dismissed disciplinary issues, stating the Mumbai batter missed out due to a surplus of batters. Iyer will join Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy campaign against Andhra. In Ishan’s absence, Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson are the wicket-keeping options for the squad.
