Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna Resigns from BJP, Likely to Join Congress
Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna, who was upset following the denial of a BJP ticket to contest from the Koppal Lok Sabha seat, has tendered his resignation to the primary membership of BJP.
In a letter sent to BJP state president BY Vijayendra, Sanganna did not mention the reason for quitting party. Sanganna Karadi is likely to join the Congress party, in presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar.
In a press conference in Koppal on Tuesday, Sanganna had stated that he got appointment of both CM and DCM and his decision on joining the Congress would be announced on Wednesday in the state capital.
Sanganna was upset as he did not get the party ticket to contest the election from Koppal seat once again. The party highcommand has given ticket to political greenhorn Dr Basavaraj Kyavatoor.
Sanganna just a few days ago, agreed to campaign for Dr Basavaraj but the political scenario changed when former DCM Laxman Savadi met him at his residence on Monday. Both leaders had an elaborated discussion over dinner and Savadi extended an invitation to him to join the party.
On Tuesday, Koppal Congress Lok Sabha candidate Raghavendra Hitnal also met him and expressed confidence that the veteran would join the party. Amargowda Byyapur, a Congress leader from Kushtagi also invited Sanganna to join the grand-old party.
