Gadag, February 7, 2024: In a major operation, the Gadag police department today deployed special teams to conduct a thorough inspection of vehicles across eight major circles within the city. Led by Superintendent of Police B.S. Nemagoud, the initiative aims to ensure proper documentation and compliance with legal procedures amongst motorists.

As per official reports, 116 vehicles were meticulously scrutinized by the designated teams and legal procedures would be initiated against the driver and owner of the vehicle. The inspection focused on verifying crucial documents like licenses, urban/rural permits, uniformity certificates, and registration papers. This comprehensive approach aimed to identify any discrepancies or irregularities in the documentation, potentially highlighting potential legal violations.

Superintendent Nemagoud emphasized the importance of such drives in ensuring road safety and adherence to traffic regulations. He stated, “Maintaining proper documentation and following legal procedures are crucial for responsible driving. This operation serves as a reminder to motorists about their obligations and helps us address any potential issues before they escalate.”

The inspection comes amidst growing concerns about traffic violations and documentation lapses in the region. The Gadag police department’s proactive approach has been lauded by citizens, who view it as a necessary step towards ensuring a safer and more organized traffic environment.

The results of the operation are yet to be officially disclosed. However, it is anticipated that the department will take appropriate legal action against any identified offenders, potentially including fines, impounding of vehicles, or even stricter measures depending on the severity of the violation.
