New Delhi, May 7, 2025: In a decisive and calibrated response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian Armed Forces today launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
On Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri joined by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force in the media briefing for Operation Sindoor,
A total of nine (9) locations, identified as hubs for planning and directing terrorist operations against India, were successfully struck. These precision strikes were based on credible intelligence and have been executed with utmost care to avoid escalation, PIB said in a release.
The operations were focused, proportionate, and deliberately designed to avoid any Pakistani military installations. India has exercised considerable restraint in both the selection of targets and the methods employed, underscoring its commitment to responsible and measured counter-terrorism action.
The strikes come in the aftermath of the heinous Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen lost their lives. India remains firm in its resolve to ensure accountability for those responsible for this atrocity, the press release from PIB said.
