Davangere, June 27: A major mishap was averted on Friday morning after smoke was spotted emanating from one of the wheels of the Vande Bharat Express near Davangere. The train was en route from Dharwad to Bengaluru when the incident occurred.
Alert railway staff quickly noticed the smoke as the train approached Davangere and brought it to a halt, averting potential danger. Fire and emergency personnel arrived at the scene promptly and resolved the issue before it could escalate, said the sources.
Following the incident, the train was halted at Davangere. Passengers bound for Bengaluru were later accommodated in the Shatabdi Express and Jodhapur Express and safely transported to their destination.
