Bengaluru, March 2: (Rameshwaram Cafe Blast): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made a visit to Rameshwaram Café in the city on Saturday, the site of Friday’s unfortunate blast. Accompanied by senior police officials, the CM was briefed on the incident and later visited those injured in the blast at Vaidehi Hospital and Brookefield Hospital to inquire about their health.

Addressing reporters in Mysuru, the CM shared that the investigation is progressing rapidly, with the police actively searching for the individual responsible for placing explosives in the eatery. Siddaramaiah acknowledged that it was indeed a blast, detailing that the accused entered the café wearing a cap and mask, subsequently leaving a bag containing explosives after having refreshments. He noted that the deputy chief minister and home minister had promptly visited the spot following the incident.

Referring to the possible similarity with the Mangaluru cooker blast case, Siddaramaiah refrained from making definitive statements, emphasizing that the investigation was ongoing, and justice would be served. He dismissed allegations of protecting anyone involved and urged against politicizing the incident, particularly criticizing the BJP for doing so. The CM also declined to classify the incident as an act of terrorism, stating that investigations were still in progress.

On a separate note, Siddaramaiah assured that his government would not shield anyone involved in cases related to Congress supporters allegedly hailing an enemy country during Rajya Sabha MP Naseer Hussain’s reelection. The opposition had accused the government of withholding the FSL report on the alleged sloganeering incident, captured on video cameras and mobile phones during Naseer Hussain’s reelection. Despite BJP’s claims of the report being ready but not released, Siddaramaiah affirmed that the investigation process was being followed without interference.
