Will Shettar Return to Lok Sabha Arena? Former CM Clarifies Belagavi Run Rumors
New Delhi, February 17: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has clarified his stance on reports suggesting his potential candidacy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Belagavi.
Speaking to a media in New Delhi, where he is attending the BJP’s national executive meeting, Shettar stated, “There have been talks about my name surfacing for the Belagavi Lok Sabha seat. However, I haven’t made any personal decision regarding this matter.”
He emphasized his commitment to the party’s decision, saying, “I will abide by whatever the party high command decides. This subject wasn’t even discussed during today’s executive meeting.”
The two-day national executive meeting is primarily focused on strategizing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Discussions on potential candidates are expected to take place, with prominent figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda attending.
