Hubballi: Former CM Jagadish Shettar stated that the reason for his return to the BJP was because he did not feel at home, as it was the party which he built and nourished for years. Another reason was to support Narendra Modi for a third consecutive term as Prime Minister, and he expressed his commitment to making efforts to further strengthen the party.

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Hubballi for the first time since rejoining the BJP, Shettar mentioned that he is not aspiring to contest the Lok Sabha election. However, if the party insists, he would definitely consider contesting and added that the party has assured him of suitable posts and positions, along with a commitment to treat him respectfully within the party.

Due to certain issues, I had quit the party. However, since leaving, there was pressure from party workers and well-wishers urging me to rejoin. The process was initiated long ago but was expedited after BY Vijayendra became the state BJP chief. Shettar credited his return to BY Vijayendra and his father, former CM BS Yediyurappa.

He acknowledged that there are some issues in the party that need to be addressed. Shettar emphasized the importance of coming together to resolve these issues and work collectively for the welfare of the party and the people.
