Bengaluru, May 7, 2025 — The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru, has issued a nowcast warning for light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across parts of Karnataka on Tuesday evening. The alert is valid for three hours from the time of issuance — 7:00 PM IST.
According to the bulletin, isolated places in Dakshina Kannada, Belagavi, Dharwad, Chikkaballapura, Chamarajanagara, Kolar, Mysuru, Bengaluru Urban, and Bengaluru Rural districts are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph.
The IMD has cautioned that temporary disruptions in electricity may occur in some areas, along with possible traffic congestion and the uprooting of weak tree branches due to strong winds.
