Warning: Exercise Caution During Night Commutes in Hubballi

Hubballi Sub Urban Police have apprehended a suspect who targeted individuals traveling alone at night. According to the police, the arrested individual and two other accomplices, who are still on the run, operated an auto-rickshaw to target lone passengers, or particularly those under the influence of alcohol.

In an incident reported on the night of December 3, they selected a passenger who had traveled from Halyal to the city and was planning to catch a train to Sindhanur. The victim requested a drop to the railway station, but instead, the accused and his two accomplices took him to Old Hubballi Bridge and robbed him of his money.

The victim filed a case later that night, and the police swiftly apprehended one suspect, while the other two remain at large. The police team, led by Inspector MS Hugar, recovered a silver chain, cash, and the auto-rickshaw used in the crime. Authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects.
