Arvind Kejriwal Seeks High Court Intervention for Increased Legal Consultations

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, currently incarcerated, has submitted a petition to the High Court urging for an augmentation in the permissible number of legal consultations per week. Kejriwal’s plea advocates for an elevation in the frequency of ‘mulaqats’ to five times weekly, surpassing the existing limit of two.

In his appeal, Kejriwal elucidates that he confronts a multitude of FIRs across various states, necessitating a substantial commitment to legal proceedings. Consequently, he contends that an expansion in the number of meetings is imperative to effectively manage this mounting workload.

The High Court has directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Tihar Jail authorities to furnish their responses regarding this issue, awaiting further deliberation on the matter.
