WASHINGTON: In a tragic incident in Texas, two individuals, including a child, suffered injuries in a church shooting. The female assailant, donned in a trench coat and wielding a long rifle, opened fire at Joel Osteen’s megachurch around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday.
Two off-duty police officers responded swiftly, engaging and fatally shooting the shooter. Unfortunately, during the confrontation, the child sustained critical injuries from gunfire.
A 57-year-old man, seemingly unrelated to the incident, was also wounded in the leg and is receiving medical care. The motive behind the shooting and the connection between the suspect and the injured child remain unclear. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner placed blame on the shooter for putting the child in danger during the harrowing incident.
