UP Jodo Yatra to Begin on Dec 20
The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) is gearing up for the ‘UP Jodo Yatra,’ set to launch from Shakambhari Devi in Saharanpur to Naimisharanya in Sitapur on December 20.
Efforts are being made to ensure the participation of senior Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge.
The yatra aims to strengthen the Congress in the state, with UPCC President Ajay Rai stating that the resolution for the yatra will be taken at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi on December 15. The yatra was initially postponed due to local body elections and will last for about 25 days, potentially involving a holy dip at Naimisharanya on Makar Sankranti. The party aims to connect with various religious places, including a ‘dargah’ near Gangoh.
