Bengaluru: Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Karnataka Congress in-charge, convened a meeting at Bengaluru’s Taj West End Hotel to discuss the appointment of corporation boards. Speaking to reporters, Surjewala emphasized the importance of thorough discussions and consideration of all aspects before reaching a decision. He expressed his commitment to the process, having visited the state multiple times for this purpose.

Surjewala exuded confidence in the Congress’s electoral prospects, foreseeing a significant victory in the upcoming five-state elections. He asserted the party’s return to power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, citing an anti-incumbency wave in Madhya Pradesh. Drawing parallels with Karnataka’s political shift, Surjewala viewed the elections as a precursor to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, heralding a new political chapter.

Addressing the Election Commission’s notice regarding the Karnataka government’s Telangana advertisement, Surjewala defended its legality but criticized the commission’s decision. He argued that the notice was a mistake, emphasizing the BJP’s similar advertisements. Surjewala affirmed the Karnataka government’s intention to provide a robust response.
