New Delhi, May 17: Congress leader and party in-charge for Karnataka, Randeep Surjewala, addressed the media today, urging them not to believe the circulating rumors regarding the selection of the Chief Minister candidate.
Surjewala clarified that the deliberations for electing the new CLP (Congress Legislative Party) leader are still underway, with a decision expected to be announced either today or tomorrow.
Dismissing the fake news surrounding the Congress’ candidate selection, Surjewala emphasized that the discussions are still ongoing, and within the next 48 to 72 hours, the new cabinet will be formed, and the government will commence its work. He further stated that AICC (All India Congress Committee) President Mallikarjun Kharge is currently conducting meetings, and the final decision will be made under his guidance.
Surjewala’s statement comes in response to widespread speculations about the Congress party’s Chief Ministerial candidate in Karnataka. He urged the media and the public to refrain from spreading and believing unfounded rumors, assuring them that the official announcement will be made by the appropriate authority in due course.
