New Delhi: In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, a calculated military response targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah briefed opposition leaders on the airstrikes, which were aimed at dismantling infrastructure linked to groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed full support for the government, emphasizing unity in the face of cross-border terrorism. He hailed the armed forces’ bravery, stating, “Those who did this must pay the price.” The strikes reportedly destroyed key terror launchpads, including sites connected to the 26/11 Mumbai attackers.
Military leaders assured that the strikes were precise, proportionate, and intended to prevent future threats. Jaish chief Masood Azhar reportedly lost family members in the attack. With escalating tensions, India remains on high alert for any retaliation. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s aggressive shelling continued for a 14th day, killing civilians and a soldier.
Amid rising conflict, emergency drills were conducted across India, including blackouts and evacuations—the first since the 1971 war. Islamabad, angered by India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, called the move an “act of war.”
