KLE Technological University Hosts 16th Regional Institute Innovation Council Meeting
Hubballi: In a groundbreaking event, KLE Technological University in Hubballi hosted the 16th Regional Institute Innovation Council (IIC) meeting on Friday.
This convergence brought together academia, industry experts, and budding innovators to celebrate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. The inaugural session witnessed influential addresses from distinguished personalities, setting the tone for a day of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Dr. Mamta Agarwal, Adviser at AICTE, delivered an inspiring keynote, urging a paradigm shift in mindset towards innovation and continuous learning.
She emphasized the importance of agility among students and the significance of skill development in today’s dynamic world. Agarwal also addressed challenges faced by educators, highlighting the need for multigeneration adaptability in academic institutions.
Mr. Dipan Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director at MIC, commended KLE Technological University for fostering an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship. Shah emphasized the driving force of creativity and curiosity in the innovation process, encouraging institutions to leverage the mentorship scheme offered by IIC.
Dr. Ashok Shettar, Vice Chancellor of KLE Technological University, underscored the crucial role played by the youth in steering the path of startups and innovations, contributing significantly to the nation’s economy. He stressed the responsibility of academic institutions in nurturing an entrepreneurial culture among students and called for collaboration among regional institutions for mutual growth.
The event featured Dr. B.S. Anami, Registrar of KLE Technological University, welcoming the gathering, and Mr. Shivayogi Turmari providing an overview of the aims and activities of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Ctie).
A booklet showcasing the activities of Ctie was released during the event.
Abhishek Ranjan, Innovation Officer from the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, and Prof. B.L. Desai, Dean (Executive), graced the occasion with their presence. Dr. Uma Mudengudi, Dean (Research and Development) at KLE Technological University, proposed the vote of thanks.
Delegates from various academic institutions, student entrepreneurs, and startups actively participated in round table discussions, networking sessions, idea pitching, and orientations for early-stage startups and innovators.
More than 500 participants from various parts of Karnataka attended the event, and over 50 exhibitors showcased their products during the exhibition.
The University also organized 500+ course projects from first-year students in the Dr. Prabhakar Kore Sports Arena.
The highlight of the event was the participation of around 30 startups, who pitched their products in front of angel investors during the round table networking meet. The 16th Regional Institute Innovation Council meeting at KLE Technological University proved to be a significant platform for fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and promoting innovation in the region.
