Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remaining matches of IPL 2025 with immediate effect. The decision follows a comprehensive assessment of the current situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders. The BCCI stated that a revised schedule and updated venues will be announced in due course.
For now, the IPL has been postponed for a period of “one week”, according to an official IPL release.
The suspension had been anticipated after the match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in Dharamshala on Thursday (May 8) was called off midway. The statement also clarified that new dates for the tournament’s resumption will be announced at the appropriate time.
Furthermore, the BCCI emphasized that the cricket board continues to work in coordination with the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of India, reaffirming its commitment to national interests.
