Hubballi: Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, on Sunday said that despite the ceasefire announcement, Pakistan has continued its attacks, revealing its habitually adopting dual stand.
Addressing the media in Hubballi on Sunday, Joshi affirmed that the Indian Army has been given full freedom and authority by the central government to respond decisively.
“Pakistan has once again exposed its two-faced approach. It’s well-known that their military often overrides the elected government, and this incident confirms it again,” Joshi said, referring to recent developments following the Pahalgam terror attack.
The minister heighlighted for the first time, the Indian government has adopted an unprecedented and uncompromising stance by treating terrorism as an act of war. “In response to the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Army has carried out a strong counter-offensive, destroying multiple terrorist bases across the border,” he stated.
Joshi revealed that on the very first day of retaliation, the army neutralized more than nine terrorist hideouts, resulting in significant casualties, including key operatives and their families. “Several underground bunkers have been destroyed, and high-ranking terrorists have been eliminated,” he added.
He further said that Pakistan had initially requested a ceasefire through military channels but violated it soon after, as expected. “India has always been a peace-loving country. But if anyone dares to challenge us, we will respond with strength,” Joshi warned.
Highlighting a shift in India’s policy, he stated, “Earlier governments often responded mildly even after major terror attacks. But for the first time, we’ve struck inside Pakistan with full force.” He added that since PM Narendra Modi came to power, terrorism has been firmly controlled and curbed.
He said entire nation has come together in unity against terrorism, and the armed forces are executing a decisive and powerful response to ensure the safety and dignity of the country.
