Hubballi: Election Officials Seize 480 mixers without proper papers

Dharwad,March 22: Acting on a tip-off regarding irregularities at the Railway Parcel Office of Hubballi Railway Station located in the 72-Hubli (East) Assembly Constituency of Dharwad Lok Sabha Constituency, the Flying Squad team seized 480 mixers which reached the parcel office without proper papers on Thursday.

Officer Basavaraj Chittaragi rushed to the spot and conducted inspection of the electronic goods. During the inspection, it was discovered that a total of 480 mixers, valued at Rs. 8 lakhs, had been received in 24 cartons without proper documentation.

Suspicions arose that these electronic goods might have been intended for distribution to voters free of cost in the lead-up to the 2024 General Elections. Consequently, the items were confiscated, and an FIR has been lodged at the Railway Police Station in Hubballi.
