In the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May, Supriya Sule, the daughter of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar, is set to contest once again from the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. Currently serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) from Baramati, Supriya’s candidacy was officially declared by her father, Sharad Pawar, during a rally organized by Maha Vikas Agadi on Saturday.

At 80 years old, Sharad Pawar took the stage to make the announcement, indicating the family’s continued influence in Baramati. The Pawar family has a strong legacy in the region, with Sharad Pawar himself having won from the constituency six times.

Despite the family’s political stronghold, there is a twist in the tale, as Ajith Pawar, Sharad Pawar’s nephew who recently distanced himself, is reportedly considering fielding his wife, Sunetra Pawar, from Baramati. This potential move adds an interesting dynamic to the electoral landscape.

Supriya Sule, having triumphed in Baramati for three consecutive terms, seeks a fourth victory in the upcoming elections. The announcement has sparked anticipation among the electorate, as the Baramati constituency becomes a focal point of political activity.

Supriya is married to Sadanand Sule, the couple have a son and daughter. She achieved hattrick from Baramati constituency. in 2009 she defeated BJP candidae Kanta Nalwade by a margin of 3,36, 831, in 2014 RSPS candidate Mahadev Jankar by a margin of 69,719 votes and BJP Kanchan Rahul Kul in 2019 by a margin of 1,55, 774 votes.
