A terror attack in the bustling Sunday market of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, left at least nine individuals injured. The incident occurred when terrorists launched a grenade near the crowded Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) during the market’s peak hours, prompting chaos and panic among shoppers.

The Sunday market, a popular weekly event located near the TRC in Lal Chowk, is frequented by locals and tourists alike. Reports indicate that the grenade was thrown outside the TRC playground, which was filled with visitors at the time. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities reported from the attack.

Footage captured immediately after the explosion revealed police and paramilitary forces quickly responding to the scene, working to evacuate the injured and restore order. A search operation has been initiated to locate the assailants responsible for the attack.

The injured, comprising eight men and one woman, were promptly transported to SMHS Hospital for treatment. Officials stated that all individuals admitted are currently in stable condition.

This violent incident follows the recent elimination of a high-ranking commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) by security forces in the Khanyar area of downtown Srinagar, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the region. Further updates on the situation are expected as authorities continue their investigations.
