“Ghar Wapasi”: Shettar’s Followers to Officially Rejoin BJP Tomorrow
Hubballi, Karnataka – In a move that could potentially boost the BJP’s ranks in the region, supporters of former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar are set to return to the saffron party tomorrow. This comes almost a month after Shettar himself re-joined the BJP.
Shettar’s loyal followers had followed him when he switched to the Congress party, but their return to the BJP faced some hurdles. According to reports, a section within the Hubballi BJP unit wasn’t too keen on their immediate re-entry, causing a delay. This reportedly left Shettar feeling sidelined, as evidenced by his limited participation in recent party meetings.
However, after a crucial meeting on Sunday evening between BJP city district president Tippanna Majjagi and other key leaders, the issue seems to have been resolved. Shettar’s supporters, who had left the BJP along with their leader, are finally set to make their “ghar wapasi” (homecoming) tomorrow, February 28th, at the party office.
