Dharwad Man Attacks Wife and Mother-in-Law Over Alleged Affair

In Dharwad, a man allegedly assaulted his mother-in-law and wife after they questioned him about an illicit affair. The man attempted to stab them with a small knife, but both women managed to escape with minor injuries.

According to the police complaint, Sartazbanu had married the accused, Mehaboobali Agasanhalli. However, their relationship soured when it was revealed that Mehaboobali was having an affair with another woman. In response, Sartazbanu began living separately.

On a Saturday afternoon, Mehaboobali’s mother-in-law, Shaheeda Rafiq Yallanur, noticed her son-in-law visiting a hotel near NTTF with the other woman. Shaheeda promptly summoned her daughter and another relative to the hotel, intending to persuade Mehaboobali to mend his ways. However, the situation escalated unexpectedly, and the accused started physically assaulting his wife and mother-in-law with a plate.

Subsequently, he attempted to harm them with a small knife right in front of the hotel, as detailed in the police complaint. The Town police have registered a case, and the investigation is currently underway.
