Dharwad June 12: In light of the continued heavy rainfall and the red alert issued by the Meteorological Department, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu has ordered the closure of all Anganwadis, primary and high schools, PU and degree colleges across Dharwad district on June 13 (Thursday) as well.
The decision comes after widespread and persistent rains across both urban and rural parts of the district, raising concerns about the safety of students. The closure announced today has now been extended to tomorrow to ensure safety amid the ongoing weather situation.
In an official statement, the Deputy Commissioner noted that several streams and low-lying areas in the district are overflowing due to continuous downpour. Considering the safety of students and the public, all educational institutions, including Anganwadis, will remain closed tomorrow as well.
