New Delhi: The Haryana election results have left Congress in shock, with the party expressing its inability to accept the outcome after an initial lead turned into a victory for the BJP. On Tuesday, Congress voiced concerns over the sudden shift in results and raised questions about the counting process.

Earlier, Congress had sent a formal complaint to the Election Commission, alleging a “mysterious delay” in the update of results for the Haryana polls. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, in his letter, mentioned the potential risk of the situation being exploited by those with ulterior motives to discredit the election process. He noted, “This slowdown creates an opportunity for malicious actors to distort facts and spread misinformation. Such narratives are already circulating on social media, raising concerns that they could influence ongoing counting in various centres.”

In response, the Election Commission strongly refuted the allegations, stating that updates were being provided every five minutes for approximately 25 rounds in each constituency. The Commission also condemned Congress’ claims, calling them baseless and criticizing the attempt to give weight to “irresponsible and unverified” narratives.
