Belagavi: An ATM (automated teller machine) of a national bank located near Ambedkar Nagar in Chikkodi town, Belgavi district, was successfully opened by miscreants using a gas cutter, resulting in the theft of lakhs of rupees. Furthermore, in a series of late-night thefts, an ATM belonging to a private bank in Ankali village also fell victim to the thieves.
Reports suggest that four accused, who arrived in a car, managed to steal more than 23 lakhs from the SBI ATM before making a swift getaway. As investigations continue, both bank staff and the local police are diligently working to determine the exact amount of money that was housed within the ATM.
