Former cricketer Yousuf Pathan has been nominated to contest the election from Bahrampore, where he is expected to face Congress party’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the incumbent representative since 1999.
Bollywood veteran Shatrughan Sinha will be contesting from Asansol, while expelled TMC MP Mahua Moitra is set to vie for the Krishna Nagar Lok Sabha seat once again.
The TMC has simultaneously announced candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, adhering to the party chief Mamata Banerjee’s declaration of going solo in the state without forming alliances with other political parties.
