Will Jagadish Shettar Return to BJP? Former CM Bommai Breaks the Silence
Bengaluru: There is strong speculation circulating that former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar may rejoin the BJP just before the Lok Sabha elections. There are indications that he might contest the MP election from the Haveri seat on a BJP ticket.
So far, neither Jagadish Shettar nor the BJP high command has spoken about this matter. However, former CM Basavaraj Bommai, when asked about the possibility of bringing back Jagadish Shettar to the BJP, stated that Shettar had previously been associated with the Jan Sangh, making it difficult for him to align with the Congress Party. “I am not aware of any efforts being made to bring him back to our party. We will abide by whatever decision is taken by our high command,” Bommai affirmed.
Bommai also highlighted that the BJP has bright prospects of winning more seats, and numerous aspirants are vying for the party’s ticket to contest the election from the Haveri Lok Sabha seat, given the party’s strong chances of victory. He mentioned several aspirants, including former minister BC Patil, Sandeep Patil, KE Kantesh, and the son of former minister KS Eshwarappa.
