Watch Video: Four-Story Building Collapses in Jaipur Downpour, Caught on Camera
In a startling incident captured on video, a four-story structure in Jaipur, Rajasthan, crumbled to the ground amid intense rainfall. The footage, which quickly spread across social media platforms, shows the building’s dramatic collapse during yesterday’s downpour.
Local officials acted swiftly, evacuating approximately 15 residents from the premises before the structure gave way. The incident occurred in the Kalyanji Ka Rasta area of Parkotan, Jaipur. Following the collapse, authorities made the decision to completely demolish the remaining parts of the building to prevent any potential accidents in the vicinity.
The heavy rains have caused significant disruption to daily life in Jaipur. Streets across the city have turned into waterways, leading to widespread traffic congestion and commuter frustration.
Weather experts from the Jaipur Meteorological Centre warn that this is not the end of the deluge. They predict that several regions in eastern Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions, may continue to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next four to five days.
The situation has become particularly dire in Karauli and Hindaun towns, where flood-like conditions have developed. Bhagwat Singh, Joint Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, reported that emergency response teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have successfully relocated about 100 individuals to safer areas.
