Raichur: The scorching sun has turned Lingasugur, a town in Raichur District, into a sizzling frying pan. For the past fifteen days, residents have sweltered under an unrelenting heatwave, with temperatures consistently exceeding a scorching 43 degrees Celsius.

To capture the public’s imagination and convey the intensity of their ordeal, a group of enterprising youths from Lingasugur’s Swami Vivekanand layout devised a unique experiment.  They defied culinary logic by successfully cooking an omelet on a pan – without using any fire whatsoever!

Prabhu Gasti, one of the participants, explained, “We simply left a pan outside in the relentless sun for over an hour and a half.  It became so hot that when we cracked an egg onto the surface, it cooked to perfection!”  With a touch of bravado, he added, “We eat the omelet without a second thought.”
