Tragic Incident in Gadag: Family of Four Brutally Murdered at Home

In a horrifying incident in Gadag’s Dasar Oni, four members of a family were ruthlessly hacked to death by unidentified assailants during the early hours of Friday.

The perpetrators forcibly entered the residence of Gadag Betageri City Municipal Council vice president, Sunanda Bakale. They mercilessly attacked her son, Karthik (27), her relative Parshuram (55), his wife Laxmi (45), and their daughter Akanksha (16), who were asleep on the first floor.

Superintendent of Police BS Nemagoud stated that the assailants, armed with knives, brutally killed the four victims while they slept. Although they attempted to breach the bedroom of Sunanda and her husband, Prakash Bakale, the couple refrained from opening the door upon hearing the commotion. Instead, they promptly alerted the police.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found the assailants had fled the scene, leaving behind murder weapons – three knives – and a pair of gold bangles in the backyard.

Parshuram, Laxmi, and Akanksha had arrived in Gadag from Koppal to attend Karthik’s engagement ceremony, which took place on April 17.

A forensic team, including a canine unit, has been deployed to gather evidence, while the police are diligently pursuing all leads to uncover the motive behind the heinous crime.
