Spitting ‘Paan’ Turns Fatal: Man Dies in Shocking Bus Accident

Sultanpur: A 45-year-old man tragically lost his life on Saturday after falling from a moving air-conditioned state roadways bus on the Purvanchal Expressway. The incident occurred around 10:30 am near the 93-kilometer marker while the bus was en route from Azamgarh to Lucknow, officials confirmed.

The deceased, identified as Ram Jivan from Lucknow’s Chinhat area, was traveling with his wife, Savitri. According to police, he reportedly opened the door of the bus to spit ‘paan’ while the vehicle was in motion. Losing his balance, he fell onto the road, sustaining fatal injuries.

The accident took place near Bihi village, under the jurisdiction of Baldirai police station. Baldirai SHO Dheeraj Kumar stated that the bus was stopped immediately after the incident, and officials from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) were alerted. UPEIDA personnel transported the injured man to the nearest community health center, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

“The body has been sent for post-mortem, and the bus involved in the incident has been brought to the police station for further investigation,” Kumar added.

This tragic accident highlights the dangers of improper use of emergency exits and doors on moving vehicles.
