Six Members of a Hubballi Family Drowns in Kali River

Dandeli, April 21: A heartbreaking incident has occurred near Akwada village in Dandeli taluk of Uttar Kannada district, Karnataka, where six tourists from the same family drowned in the Kali River.

The family, who had gone on a trip, were having lunch and resting when a small child accidentally fell into the water. In an attempt to save the child, one by one, six people drowned. The deceased have been identified as Nazir Ahmed (40), Alfiya Ahmed (10), Mohin (6), Reshma Unnisa (38), Ifra Ahmed (15), and Abid Ahmed (12).

The deceased were residents of Ishwar Nagar in Hubballi. A total of eight people had gone on the trip, and it is said that two women did not enter the water. The police have retrieved the six bodies from the Kali River. The bodies have been shifted to Dandeli Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered at Dandeli Rural Police Station.
