SIT, CID Karnataka Launches Probe into Alleged Cryptocurrency Hacking and Siphoning Incidents

Bengaluru: The Government of Karnataka has taken a significant step in addressing the alleged hacking of multiple exchanges and gaming portals, along with the purported siphoning of cryptocurrencies during the period of 2020-2021. To thoroughly investigate these incidents, a specialized team has been formed under the aegis of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Karnataka.

Since August 2023, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at CID, Karnataka, has been diligently working on unravelling the complexities surrounding these offenses. Substantial evidence, comprising both technical and documentary elements, has been amassed during the course of the investigation.

The SIT, acknowledging the potential contribution of the public in furthering their pursuit of truth, is extending an invitation for information and evidence. Individuals possessing relevant knowledge or evidence pertaining to the alleged incidents are urged to come forward and assist in this critical investigation.
