Shivamogga Police Fire at Rowdy Sheeter Attempting Escape

The Shivamogga police fired at a rowdy sheeter attempting to escape after trying to attack them. The injured rowdy, identified as Manjunath alias Olonga, was taken by the police to inspect the spot where he allegedly stabbed someone, reported local media.

During the inspection, Manjunath attempted to attack the police with the same weapon used in the stabbing. Despite the police firing warning shots in the air, he continued to resist. In self-defense, Inspector Siddegowda aimed the gun at Manjunath’s knee.

The accused had stabbed a person near Freedom Park three days prior, leading to his arrest. Both the injured rowdy and a police personnel named Ravi were admitted to the Government Hospital in Shivamogga, said local media.
