Royal Enfield, the iconic motorcycle brand, has unveiled the all-new Himalayan 450, its much-anticipated successor to the 2016 model, at the Motoverse event in Goa. The new Himalayan boasts a host of upgrades, including a new engine, enhanced suspension, and lighter weight, all while maintaining its competitive pricing.

Pricing and Variants

The Himalayan 450 is available in three variants: Base, Mid, and Top. The Base variant, starting at ₹2.69 lakh, comes in Kaza Brown. The Mid variant, ‘Pass’, priced at ₹2.74 lakh, offers a choice of two colors: Granite Black and Astral Blue. The Top variant, ‘Peak’, is available in two color options: Kamet White at ₹2.79 lakh and Hanle Black at ₹2.84 lakh.

New Sherpa 450 Engine

The heart of the new Himalayan is the all-new Sherpa 450 engine, a liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit that is 10 kg lighter than its predecessor. This new engine delivers 39.5 hp of maximum power at 8000 rpm and 40 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.

Ride-by-Wire Technology

The Himalayan 450 features a Ride-by-Wire system that enables two distinct riding modes: Performance and Economy. Performance mode unleashes the full power of the engine for spirited riding, while Economy mode prioritizes fuel efficiency for long-distance touring.

Enhanced Suspension and Lighter Weight

The new Himalayan benefits from enhanced suspension, including 43mm USD forks at the front with 200 mm travel and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear with 200 mm travel. The motorcycle also sheds 3 kg of weight compared to its predecessor, contributing to its improved agility and handling.

Competitive Pricing

Despite its array of upgrades, the new Himalayan retains its competitive pricing. The Base variant starts at ₹2.69 lakh, while the Top variant reaches ₹2.84 lakh. This positions the Himalayan 450 favorably against its rivals in the adventure motorcycle segment.

The all-new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, offering a more powerful engine, enhanced suspension, lighter weight, and modern features. With its competitive pricing, the Himalayan 450 is poised to continue the success of its legacy in the adventure motorcycle segment.
