Pushpa 2 Stampade: Allu Arjun’s Jubilee Hills Residence Attacked; Eight Protesters Arrested
Hyderabad: Tensions escalated dramatically on Sunday evening as protesters targeted Allu Arjun’s residence in Hyderabad, causing significant damage. Visuals broadcast by Big TV depicted the demonstrators, reportedly members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC), vandalizing the actor’s property in Jubilee Hills. Armed with placards, they hurled stones and tomatoes, shattered flowerpots, and demanded that Arjun provide financial assistance to the family of Revathi, who tragically lost her life in the Pushpa 2 stampede incident.
The protesters demanded that the actor pay ₹1 crore to Revathi’s family, citing the substantial box office success of Pushpa 2: The Rule. “Allu Arjun must support the family of the late Revathi. It is unacceptable that film industry figures rallied behind him during his legal troubles but remain silent about this tragedy. They must stand by Revathi’s family and her husband, Sri Teja,” one protester said during a televised interview.
Reports indicate that the actor’s children, Arha and Ayaan, were escorted to their maternal uncle’s house by staff members amid the chaos. It remains unclear whether Allu Arjun was at home during the incident. Police intervened promptly, arresting eight individuals, according to a report by Live Hindustan. Meanwhile, both Ind Today and trade analyst Manobala have stated that the protesters also burned an effigy of the actor, although further details are awaited.
The Pushpa 2 Stampede Incident
The controversy stems from a December 4 event at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, where Allu Arjun, accompanied by his family and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, caused an overcrowded scene. The chaotic situation resulted in the death of Revathi and left her young son critically injured.
Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident and released on interim bail the following day. Prominent film personalities, including Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, and Venkatesh, visited him after his release. However, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently accused the actor of being aware of Revathi’s death while still at the theatre—a claim corroborated by the Telangana police but denied by the actor, who insists he learned about the tragedy the next day.
