Los Angeles (USA): In a significant announcement made at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show, Amazon revealed its forthcoming venture into the online retailing of Hyundai cars, slated to commence next year, as detailed in a press release. This collaborative initiative seeks to revolutionize the conventional process of car acquisition, with an emphasis on streamlining and expediting the overall experience, as articulated in a promotional video jointly presented by the two entities.
In the coming year, prospective car buyers in the United States will have the convenience of accessing Amazon’s online platform to peruse Hyundai vehicles available in their vicinity. This user-friendly interface will enable customers to apply filters based on model, trim, color, and other specifications. The comprehensive purchasing journey allows users to seamlessly navigate through the selection, finalize their choices, select preferred payment methods, explore financing options, and subsequently schedule the delivery or dealership pickup of their chosen vehicle.
Hyundai’s pioneering role as the first automotive company to facilitate end-to-end transactions within Amazon’s U.S. store was underscored by Jaehoon (Jay) Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, who expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative effort. In his statement on Thursday, Chang remarked, “This is another example of how we continue to push for ways to elevate the customer journey together with our outstanding retail partners.”
Beyond the direct sales platform, the multi-year collaboration encompasses additional features, including a slated hands-free Alexa experience within Hyundai cars by 2025. This integration will extend beyond conventional entertainment, offering users the ability to seamlessly manage Amazon smart home tools while on the road, further enhancing the interconnected digital experience.
Notably, Hyundai has maintained a digital showroom on the Amazon marketplace since 2018, providing prospective customers with a virtual platform to explore the diverse range of Hyundai models.
