Parents, Two Children Die in Horrific Road Accident in Gadag
Gadag, EXPRESS News: A devastating road accident claimed the lives of four members of a single family on Sunday when their car collided head-on with a government bus on the outskirts of Konnur village in Nargund taluk, Gadag district.
The victims have been identified as Rudrappa Angadi, 55, his wife Rajeshwari, 45, their daughter Aishwarya, 16, and son Vijay, 12. The family, originally from Haveri, was en route to the Basaveshwara temple in Kallapur to observe the Shravan month rituals when the tragedy struck.
According to local police reports, the accident occurred when the family’s car, traveling towards Kallapur, collided with a transport bus heading from Ilkal to Hubballi. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely crushed, leaving no survivors among its occupants.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrific. “The car was mangled beyond recognition,” said a local resident who arrived at the scene shortly after the crash.
Nargund police officials quickly responded to the incident, cordoning off the area and conducting a preliminary investigation. “We are looking into all aspects of this tragic accident,” said a senior police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity. “Our priority is to determine the exact cause and circumstances that led to this collision.” Naragund Police have registered a case and investigation is going on.
