Old Hubballi Resident’s Alertness Leads to Arrest of POS Machine Scam Accused

Hubballi: In a major breakthrough, Hubballi-Dharwad Police have arrested an accused who was part of a gang that used stolen POS machines to defraud foreigners. The accused provided the machines to tricksters, who then used them to swipe debit and credit cards of unsuspecting victims.

The scam was uncovered when an Old Hubballi resident noticed suspicious transactions on his account. He immediately reported the matter to the police, who launched an investigation.

Using technology, the cyber crime police were able to track down the accused, a Mangaluru resident, in Mysuru. He is currently in custody, and police are confident that they will soon apprehend the other members of the gang. Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka K Sukumar hailed the effort of the police.
