Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been urgently taken to the hospital in Chattogram after being struck on the head during a training session with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Comilla Victorians at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Positioned near his bowling mark, Mustafizur was hit by a shot from Litton Das, who was batting in a nearby net. The left-arm paceman sustained a bleeding injury and received initial medical assistance at the venue before being transported to the hospital for further treatment, as reported by Cricbuzz.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning during Comilla’s preparation for their upcoming BPL game against Sylhet Strikers, scheduled for Monday.

Zahidul Islam, the team physio, stated, “During practice, a ball hit directly at the left parietal area (head) of Mustafizur Rahman. There was an open wound at his parietal area, and we have worked with a compression bandage to stop bleeding and immediately shifted him to Imperial Hospital.” Islam added, “After a CT scan, we are satisfied that he had only an external injury. There is no intracranial bleeding. Now the surgical team has given him stitches on the open wound.”
