Missing Bengaluru Techie Found in Noida Mall
A Bengaluru tech professional who had been reported missing has been found at a mall in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Vipin Gupta, who was last seen on August 4, was the subject of a missing persons report filed by his wife, Sriparna Dutta, at the Kodigehalli Police Station in Bengaluru.
Sriparna had taken to Facebook Live to urgently seek help in locating her husband, expressing frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation despite her filing the police report. She alleged that the authorities were not making headway in the case.
Police pursued several investigative avenues, including reviewing CCTV footage, examining financial transactions, and analyzing digital evidence. These efforts led them to the Noida mall where Gupta was found with a shaved head. Authorities are now probing the reasons behind his departure from Bengaluru and his decision to alter his appearance.
Vipin was last seen around 12:42 pm on August 4 in the Tatanagar area of Kodigehalli, leaving his residence on his green Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. Notably, a withdrawal of ₹1.8 lakh was made from his bank account shortly after he went missing, and his phone has been off since then.
Sriparna, who has two daughters aged 5 months and 14 years, had emphasized on social media that Vipin, who deeply loves his family, would never abandon them. She highlighted their plans for their younger child’s annaprasadam on August 8, stressing that her husband would never leave them.
The viral social media appeal drew significant public interest and led to questions about the delay in locating Vipin. Many social media users later praised the Bengaluru police for their efforts, with comments such as, “Kudos to the team in finding him” and “Excellent work by Bangalore Police.”
