Hubballi Auto Driver Arrested for Sexually Abusing a Minor

Hubballi, EXPRESS News: An auto-rickshaw driver has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl known to him. The victim’s parents recently filed a case after the girl revealed her ordeal.

The minor, resides in Kasabapet Police limits and regularly traveled to school, had befriended the accused, a man in his 20s from her neighborhood. One day, the man took her to a deserted area near Dharwad temple on the outskirts of the city and attempted to become intimate with her. The girl managed to escape and return home, refusing his advances.

Recently, the accused again tried to take advantage of the situation and attempted physical contact. This time, the girl informed her parents, who immediately registered a case with the Kasabapet police.

The Kasabapet police have arrested the accused and booked him under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl has undergone a medical examination, and the police are currently investigating the case.
