Helicopter En Route to Hyderabad Crashes in Pune Due to Strong Winds
Pune: A helicopter carrying four individuals crashed near Paud village in Pune today, reportedly due to strong winds and severe weather conditions. Remarkably, all four passengers survived the incident.
The helicopter, an AW 139, had departed from Juhu in Mumbai and was en route to Hyderabad when it went down in Pune’s Paud area.
The helicopter’s captain, who sustained injuries in the crash, was promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention. The remaining three passengers are reported to be in stable condition. The chopper was operated by Global Vectra Helicorp.
An official, speaking to news agency PTI, confirmed, “The captain is being taken to the hospital, while the other three passengers are stable. The helicopter belongs to Global Vectra Helicorp. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.”
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued orange alerts for Pune and Satara districts in western Maharashtra, warning of heavy rainfall.
