India has seen a significant surge in cybercrimes in recent years, with scammers devising creative ways to dupe unsuspecting victims. However, in a humorous twist of fate in Kerala, a con artist pretending to be a police officer met his match when he unknowingly targeted a real cop. The Thrissur City Police shared the entertaining exchange on Instagram, captioning it, “The tiger who caught the tiger.”

The video begins with the scammer, dressed in a police uniform, introducing himself as a Mumbai police officer. The real Thrissur officer plays along initially, pointing out that the scammer’s camera seems to have issues. Moments later, the officer adjusts his own camera to reveal his full uniform and identity. Calmly, he asks the imposter, “What do you do?”

The unexpected confrontation leaves the scammer visibly stunned. As the reality dawns on him, he can only laugh nervously. The officer then delivers a stern warning: “Stop this immediately. I have your address, your location, and all your details. This is the Cyber Cell. It’s better for you to stop this work.”

The video, shared on Tuesday, has since gone viral, garnering over 242,000 views and 10,000 likes. Social media users couldn’t get enough of the encounter, praising the Thrissur police for their quick thinking.

One user humorously wrote, “When the scammer scams himself by calling a real cop—what a plot twist!” Another added, “This is both tragic and hilarious for the fraudster. Imagine pretending to be a cop and accidentally confessing to one!”

Many applauded the officer’s professionalism in handling the situation. “Well done to the Thrissur Cyber Cell! This is how you deal with scammers,” commented one user, while another joked, “Looks like the scammer won’t be donning that uniform again anytime soon.”

The post has sparked a wave of laughter and admiration online, showing that sometimes even scammers aren’t immune to poetic justice.
