BELAGAVI: Rajya Sabha MP Iranna Kadadi revealed significant progress in the elevation of Belagavi Airport’s infrastructure during a meeting with the Airport Advisory Committee on Saturday. The focal point of discussion was the ambitious plan to construct a new terminal, and Kadadi gathered comprehensive details about the entire project during the meeting.

The estimated cost for the construction of the new terminal at Belagavi Airport is a staggering Rs 357 crores, covering a substantial area of 16,400 square meters. Set to be completed by 2026, the state-of-the-art facility will boast four aero bridges, eight escalators, and a robust capacity to simultaneously handle 2400 passengers for both arrivals and departures.

Notably, the new terminal is designed to efficiently manage the arrival and departure of up to nine aircraft simultaneously. The infrastructure blueprint also encompasses expansive parking facilities, accommodating 500 cars, 200 bikes, 10 buses, and various other vehicles right in front of the terminal.

This development signifies a pivotal leap forward in the modernization of Belagavi Airport, elevating its capabilities to meet international standards. Already serving as a gateway with direct flights to major cities such as Delhi and Mumbai, this expansion is set to redefine air travel convenience for the people of Northern Karnataka. With cutting-edge facilities on the horizon, the Belagavi Airport is poised to provide an even more seamless and connected travel experience in the days to come, said the MP.
